Legacy Giving

Please consider remembering us in your will.

Since 1967, the Northern Chamber Orchestra has been a beacon of musical excellence. Our mission is to enrich lives and build communities through the power of quality music, touching hearts not only in Macclesfield and the North West but also across the nation. To sustain our vibrant journey, we rely on a robust financial framework, which includes ticket sales, patronage, sponsorships, Arts Council England support, trusts, foundations, and corporate partnerships.

But our dedication extends beyond the stage. We take pride in our revered outreach programmes, where we share the magic of music with care homes and schools throughout the region. As we look the future, envisioning the next 30 years and beyond, we ask for your support through legacy gifts. NCO is a registered charity and the money we raise through ticket sales and donations is used wisely: commissioning new works, paying our musicians, investing in rehearsal time, and buying or hiring music. Long-term gifts such as legacies will help us to continue presenting concerts, attracting distinguished chamber musicians and soloists, and delivering our learning and participation opportunities.

HOW WE WILL THANK YOU

We appreciate the generous gesture of remembering us in your will and to acknowledge this within your lifetime, we invite you to join the Northern Circle. Each year we will hold an event for members of the Circle to keep up-to-date with our news and see our work in action, and we would also like to recognise your generosity on our website (anonymously if you prefer). We will also send you newsletters outlining the various ways in which our donors have supported the orchestra, from helping to cover costs of putting on concerts to sending our musicians into schools and care homes.

If you have included Northern Chamber Orchestra in your will and would like to join the Northern Circle, please let us know by emailing admin@ncorch.co.uk.

We understand that your circumstances are unique. While we cannot provide financial advice, we would be more than willing to discuss the type of gift that aligns with your intentions. Here are some options to consider:

Residuary Gift: Dedicate a portion of your estate to ensure the orchestra’s enduring legacy while also providing for your loved ones.

Pecuniary (Cash) Gift: Specify a fixed sum of money to be allocated to the orchestra.

Additionally, leaving a charitable donation in your will can significantly reduce inheritance tax. If you donate 10% or more of your net estate to a charity like the Northern Chamber Orchestra, you’ll benefit from a reduced inheritance tax rate.

We strongly recommend consulting with a solicitor when creating or amending your will. If you already have a will in place, consider adding a codicil or creating a letter of wishes to guide your loved ones in understanding your heartfelt intentions.

Your generosity can help us continue our journey of creating music that moves souls and inspires minds. If you have any further questions, please give us a call on 0161 706 1990. Thank you for considering the Northern Chamber Orchestra in your Legacy plans.
